How Big Does a Cavapoo Get?

Cavapoo puppies, when first adopted, are quite small. As are most puppies! But their small size leads many owners to wonder how much bigger they might become. Cavapoos will never have the huge growth spurts that other breeds are known for, but they will, like all dogs, grow as they age.

How much they grow, though, will depend on the type of Poodle that their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel parent bred with. Let’s break it down:Cavapoo dog in his bed

Mini Cavapoos

A Mini Cavapoo is the product of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Miniature Poodle. They will grow to be about 12 to 14 inches tall, and weigh 14 to 20 pounds on average.

Toy Cavapoos

Toy Cavapoos are smaller than their mini brothers and sisters. They are bred from a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Toy Poodle. Toy Poodles are smaller than Miniature Poodles, so their offspring are smaller than Mini Cavapoos.

Generally speaking, Toy Cavapoos will be no more than 12 inches tall and weigh between 7 to 13 pounds on average.

Teacup Cavapoos

Teacup Cavapoos are even smaller than Toy Cavapoos. While they are also a product of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and Toy Poodles, they are bred from the smallest Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in the litter.

This combination will lead to a Teacup Cavapoo that is about 8 to 10 inches tall and 5 to 10 pounds.

Keep in mind, these sizes are general. A Toy Cavapoo could certainly grow bigger than 12 inches, and a Mini Cavapoo could be smaller than 12 inches. It all depends on the individual puppy you have.
